March 2, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

A low impact development guidance template has recently been completed for Western Oregon. The Rogue Valley Stormwater Advisory Team will be reviewing and adapting the manual for Rogue Valley municipalities and anticipates adopting it in the near future. Come find out what new information will be available in the manual to ease design, construction, and maintenance of LID projects.

1.  What is low impact development and why detention does not protect water quality.
2.  Stormwater Management Framework. The difference between preventing runoff (i.e. managing rainfall) and reducing runoff (i.e. managing runoff) and why BMPs should be applied to every developed land surface.
3.  What BMPs are included in the guidance template, with an overview of information available on each BMP. Over 20 BMPs are included in the guidance template covering everything from shared parking spaces to rain gardens to drywells. Overview of planning and design tools to implement BMPs including:
*         BMP Suitability Matrix
*         LID Implementation Form
